PRESIDENT AND OWNER:

DENNIS KOSTIUK
After incorporation of DMK in 1985, Dennis opened up a mud warehouse and trucking division in Rycroft. Expansion brought new personnel for the Grande Prairie, Edmonton, and Fort St. John areas, and Dennis resumed duties in the Calgary office.

Dennis has, in the past, developed and tested mud systems which are cost effective for particular areas and continues to do so. These applied systems provide good well-bore stability. He continues to provide his customers with cost effective mud programming which utilizes the finest products available to the industry. Technical and field services are available 24 hours per day.

Dennis past experience is as follows:
1979-1980 One year with Dresser Magcobar in the Whitecourt, Edson, and Wolf Lake areas of Alberta. Dennis attended Magcobar Mud School in Houston and received his Mud Engineering training and certification.

1980-1985 Six years with Mission Mud Control. Initially, Dennis was a Mud Engineer in the Whitecourt Area. He then obtained his pilot’s license, which allowed for expansion into the Zama Lake, Fort St. John, Fort Nelson regions, as well as much of Northwestern Alberta. Dennis moved to Calgary in 1982 where he gained experience in mud programming and technical sales representation. His last two years with Mission Mud Control brought the involvement in general management duties including personnel Development and Office Management.

VICE PRESIDENT:

SCOTT OTTESON
Scott is DMK’s Vice President, and Technical Account Manager. He has 13 years of oilfield experience, and has been working for DMK since 2001. For 2 years, Scott was the Technical Manager and was promoted to Vice President in 2007. Scott maintains strategic relationships with Canadian firms that are recognized as industry leaders in the research, development, manufacturing and supply of technologically advanced drilling additives, specialty chemicals and hydrocarbon-based fluids.

Scott makes an effort everyday to provide the kind of service you expect and deserve, problem solving and dealing with fluid management and well bore conditions. Reactive fluid management or after-the-fact cures are undesirable and often costly. Scott works hard at maintaining a cooperative approach to minimize over expenditures and maximize productivity. In turn, we feel it is important that our suppliers are accountable and able to deliver the products we need, by testing in the laboratory for product consistency, quality and cost control to provide the best products at the most competitive prices. Scott’s experience in problem solving while working in the field, and in the capacity of Technical Manager for the past two years, has covered most areas of Alberta and Northeastern B.C.


TECHNICAL & SALES SUPPORT STAFF:

NICK LEGACY, E.I.T (TECHNICAL RESEARCH / DRILLING ENGINEER / PROGRAMMER)
Nick joined DMK in January of 2007 as an engineering co-op student. He completed his degree in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Alberta and has returned to work full time in the office. Prior to DMK, Nick worked at Devon Canada for 12 months in there drilling department. As a student at Devon, his work mainly focused in the Foothills, Deep Basin, and Jackfish SAGD areas. Nick’s responsibilities at DMK include researching new technologies and working in the lab testing new products. He also has taken on the role of DMK's Drilling Fluid Programmer with the assistance of Scott.

CATHY MAY (TECHNICAL ASSISTANT)
Cathy joined DMK in January of 2008. She came to DMK with 6 years of Oil & Gas related background. She now gathers information to put together bids and proposals, area studies, and annual summaries for customers. She also maintains DMK's website, tracks daily well progress, and graphs data.


OPERATIONS MANAGER/FIELD SUPERINTENDENT:

DWAYNE KREFTING
Dwayne is DMK’s Operations Manager based from the Grande Prairie facility. He came to work for DMK in 1990 and prior to this, gained 6 years of rig experience, 2 of those years as a Driller.

Dwayne is responsible for the daily operation of the company. Included in this, is the supervision and organization of load lists for service and non-service wells and the implementation of new products and services into field operations. Dwayne handles all concerns from the field, which encompasses customer recommendations as well. He oversees all tank farm transactions as well as company and safety policies. As DMK’s Field Supervisor, he is responsible for delegating rigs to each Technical Service Representative, attending pre-spud consultations at each rig, as well as overseeing all issues raised by our mudmen.

His qualifications are a definite asset to DMK as is his knowledge on wells drilled in the Rycroft, Grande Prairie and Northeast B.C, areas. He is available 24 hours a day.


TECHNICAL SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES:

DMK’s Technical Service Representatives (mudmen) have undergone and have competently completed mud school as provided by DMK’s technical staff in Calgary. Collectively, they have experience in the following mud systems: Gel-Chemical, Dispersed Gel-Chemical, Potassium Silicate, PHPA Polymer, Invert, Viscosified Invert, Potassium Sulfate, DMK’s (fx) Fluid, and Oil/Water based horizontal drilling fluids.

DMK’s Technical Service Representatives comply with EUB safety regulations and have completed courses in St. Johns First Aid, First Line BOP, TDG, WHMIS, and H2S Alive.

All communicate well with drilling rig personnel and oil company representatives. They understand the drilling problems in most areas making them valuable assets on the wells that they service.

TRAVIS GODLONTON
Travis joined DMK in October of 2004 after working for Jomax Drilling as a Derrick hand. He has 11 years of experience in the Nordegg, Grande Cache areas working with Invert, and (fx) Poly / Gel-free systems.

JOE ZSEDNAI
Joe joined DMK in May of 2005 and resides in Hinton, Alberta. He previously worked for Precision Drilling as a Derrick Hand for 7 years. Most recently, Joseph was working for Nabors Drilling as an Assistant Driller. Joe’s experience to date is primarily in the Edson, Whitecourt, Grande Cache, and Edmonton areas.

SHANE PATTISON
Shane, who is based out of Grande Prairie, joined DMK in 2000. Shane had five years of Oilfield experience prior to working for DMK, two of those as a derrick hand. Prior to his employment with DMK, Shane successfully completed DMK’s mud school. His experience has been mostly in the Simonette, Fox Creek, Grande Cache, Valhalla, Fort Nelson, Edson, Hinton and Peace Arch areas.

JARRET REZANSOFF
Jarret joined DMK in November 2007 after gaining experience with Phelps Drilling as a Derrick hand, Nabors Drilling as a Motorman and Bear Drilling as a Motorman. He has over 9 years of field experience and works primarily out of Grande Prairie.

DAVID MEYER
Dave joined DMK in December 2007 with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering. He gained experience mainly with Baker Hughes as a Mud engineer specializing in Carbo-Drill 100 OBM, Floc Water System, GelChem / PHPA and Clay-Free Polymer Base WBM. He has worked primarily in Northeast BC and in Alberta (Grande Prairie, Two Lakes Road, Red Rock Road, Weyerhauser Main, Heritage Highway, Debolt, Valleyview, Peace River, Fairview, Dixonville, Grande Cache, Edson & Hinton).

BRIAN FINDLEY
Brian joined the DMK team in July 2010 with 35 years in the drilling fluids industry. One of his most notable experiences has been drilling a 11,642m horizontal well. He has successfully worked with both water and oil based mud systems nationally as well as internationally. DMK welcomes Brian as our newest mudman!


TRUCKING OPERATIONS:

KELLY BURAKE (LOGISTICS MANAGER)
Grande Prairie
Kelly started with DMK in 1993 as a driver and has seen DMK grow from a fleet consisting of two trucks and one mud warehouse to a fleet of sixteen trucks and three mud warehouses. In December of 1999, Kelly became Trucking Superintendent for the Grande Prairie Warehouse.

Kelly has traveled into the Yukon, N.W.T., North Eastern B.C., most parts of Alberta and western Saskatchewan where he has supplied drilling fluids. This experience has provided him with the background necessary for dispatching trucks and maintaining employee and customer satisfaction.

Kelly is responsible for company policy regarding safety procedures and he ensures that all employees are equipped with adequate safety equipment and up-to-date safety training. He is also responsible for the distribution and employee interpretation of the current safety program.








LABORATORY OPERATIONS (PEACE ANALYTICAL LABORATORIES, PAL):

COREY BEAUPRE, B.SC. (LABORATORY MANAGER)
Corey is the PAL’s supervisor. Corey joined DMK in 1993 bringing with him a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Calgary. Five years of educational experience have provided Corey with the skill to perform and interpret the following: G-50 guidelines and criteria, disposal practices, oil characteristics, gas analyses and water analyses (both drinking and production). Corey understands disposal problems as well as the importance of fast turn-around times.

GENEVIEVE PAYEUR
Geneviève is in charge of Quality Assurance / Quality Control. She joined DMK in 1994 and has a Chemical Technologist Diploma from NAIT. Three years of educational experience have provided her with valuable experience for performing and interpreting chemical analyses such as the following: G-50 guidelines and criteria, disposal practices, oil characteristics, gas analyses and water analyses (both drinking and production) and quality control.


SAFETY OPERATIONS:

AUDREY SAUDER
Grande Prairie
Audrey has been in charge of safety at DMK since August 2003. She has 14 years of experience in the oilfield industry, in which time she has developed and implemented Health and Safety programs for oilfield, transportation and construction. She has been an instructor, auditor, and has assisted in investigating accidents, incidents, and insurance claims. Audrey has conducted safety meetings, and has experience in customer relations, and management.

Audrey is the Co-Chairman of the Board and external auditor for the Alberta Motor Transportation Association, as well as being an active member. She has achieved her Occupational Health and Safety Degree from the University of Alberta and holds five certificates in health and safety from the following:

-Alberta Motor Transportation Association
-Alberta Construction Association
-Petroleum Industry Training Services (PITS)
-Supervisor Awareness Training
